I have my own domain name and allow any email to the domain to come to
me.  This is both a good thing and a bad thing in my opinion.  It has
the advantage that I can get quotations from say car insurance companies
and use the address of the form carinsurancecompany at domain.extension.
This also allows me to see which companies give out my address when I
tell them not to.  Which surprisingly is about 20% of them.  The
disadvantage is that zombie hosts will find a domain name and then send
emails to every name in a dictionary to the domain.  Thus I receive
quite a high level of spam as a downside.

So for example this morning I have received emails to the following
addresses:-
allornothing at domain.extension
ornothing at domain.extension
john at domain.extension
james at domain.extension
yougettheideanow at domain.extension
