Similarly, I tried to remove gamin from my FC4 desktop last night, an
app for which I have no use. In order to do so, I'd also need to remove
over 40 other apps, which I *do* use. As another example:

 leto:~# yum erase nautilus-cd-burner
 [...]

 Removing:
  nautilus-cd-burner i386 2.10.0-2 installed 896 k
 Removing for dependencies:
  evince i386 0.4.0-1.2 installed 1.7 M
  nautilus i386 2.10.0-4 installed 11 M
  totem i386 1.0.4-1 installed 3.1 M

WTF? I need to remvoe a PostScript previewer and a movie player in
order to rid my system of a CD burner that I don't use? I'm seriously
considering switching away from Fedora because of the way they've
screwed up the dependencies so badly. I'm not sure that any of the
other distributions will have done it any better, but it's reaching
the point where if they haven't, I'm going to end up rolling my own...
