After switching staff at work to Thunderbird, we get suprisingly few
messages with TNEF attachments coming in (so few that I just tell
people to forward them to me, whereupon I decode and send back). Most
are actually from company employees elsewhere in the world still using
Outlook, so we can just walk them through switching off the "Outlook
Rich Text" setting, which makes Outlook use plain ol' MIME (for most
things).

Still, for Thunderbird to at least decode such things would be one major
barrier removed when it comes to using it in a world of Exchange and
Outlook users, which, for better or worse, is the world most businesses
are in.

I'm certainly not proposing that Thunderbird be able to *encode*
attachments as TNEF :)
