I think apostrophe is used in some regions along with a vowel (or
sometimes a consonant) to indicate an acute, like such: á.

Try pressing ' and then a, or perhaps the other way around and this is
what you may get.  Pressing it twice I thought should have worked, or
perhaps ' and then space.
