What's wrong with the current version? Could you consider running
Windows 9x under some sort of emulation (eg. VMWare) or (better still)
running the application under Wine?
Have you thought about migration? RealBasic is a commercial program
which will allow you to migrate VB6 applications to something that can
run on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. [This is not an endorsement - I
have never used this software, and it is just as proprietary as the
software it replaces].
