There is nothing special about the Fritz box - it's just an ADSL router 
with an inbuilt VoIP ATA. 

Zyxel, Billion, Zoom and others offer exactly the same kind of thing.

Note that ADSL in Germany is over ISDN rather than over analogue as here 
so that device might not even work here (I may be wrong on that one but do 
check before buying).

More router suppliers are looking at integrating ATAs already.

Currently I'm using an external ATA with my normal router.
