Volvo estates used to have the option of an additional rear-facing seat
behind the rear seat. The standard rear seat had 2 x lap and diagonal belts
plus a central lap only, but I have not looked closely at the extra
rear-facing seat. I have owned second hand 240 series rear-wheel-drive
manual only, not automatic, and did not find them expensive to run. Not sure
about the most recent "Volvo" cars now that the company is owned by Ford,
they look just like any other bloated Ford from the outside. I think the
latest "Land Rover" cars may have gone the same way.
