[Gllug] Disabling the framebuffer on an IBM blade

Dean, Bob and I have spent the past hour or so trying to stop a machine
running Debian enabling the framebuffer on boot.

Options we have tried include

nofb
framebuffer=false
video=vga16:off
video=riva: off video=vesa:off
vga=ask  (followed by selecting 80x25)
vga=normal

and a few others.

The hardware is unusual, it's an IBM e series blade which we access via
the bladecentre using the IBM management tool (which is Java and
therefore horrid).

If anyone has alternate suggestions for disabling the framebuffer, I'd
love to hear them.

Thanks

Mart.
