[Gllug] setterm only temporary

(Fedora 8/runlevel 3)

setterm -bold on

... seems only to have temporary effects whichever way I set it. I've added
this:

for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6; do
setterm -bold on -store > /dev/tty$i
done

.... to /etc/profile, /etc/bashrc, /root/.bashrc sourced by
/root/.bash_profile and even added it to a custom script in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d

Only setting it in /root/.bashrc gets it working but even then it sometimes
loses the setting when I switch in and out of tty's with Alt F1-6 or quit an
application such as MySQL. Logging in and out of tty's also has variable
results.

How should I set this to work properly? Even better, how do I set it to work
in the startup screen while booting?

Garry
