Moving away from burning fossil fuels is unfortunately easier said than done!
The energy has to come from somewhere, be it solar, wind, water, nuclear, fossil
or bio.
Only bio and fossil would seem to be viable for powering cars.
The idea of electric powered cars being more ecologically friendly seems to be
a nonsense all the while electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels.
I havn't seen any sums but its a fair bet that burning fuel in a power station,
transmitting the electricity, charging up a car and then running electric motors
is less efficient than a small efficient 'fossil fuel' engine.
