Well that's the choice BSD make - if they're happy to see their work
exploited by companies which are openly hostile to open source so be 
it. Its not like this is a new issue - say the same about any driver
in the Linux kernel.  That said, there is nothing to stop BSD folk
looking at the GPL'd driver to find out the register details, which
is the core information required for a driver.  IMHO its a tradeoff
worth making.
