Having done a two year stint as a recruitment consultant myself for two
companies one which supplied both temporary manual workers and white
collar workers The other supplied Engineers to Rover etc. I have to
admit that initially you start out with all the right intentions and
work practices, "Is this the right person for the post?".
After seven or eight months it turned into a "Bums on seats" situation
at both agencies I worked for. This was obviously due to pressure from
Managers to fill placements.
True you could build a base of 'quality' candidates those who worked
short term stints that got good feedback so could be placed over and
over again trouble is they tended to be used as 'Fire Brigade' solutions
for placements that went bad.
At the end of the day Agencies are not your friends they're not going to
pay your Council tax for you they are in the business of making money
out of you, you are a commodity up for sale and if your placement
doesn't work out "There's plenty more fish in the sea".
Every agency will deny this vehemently, well of course they would.
