I find it amusing that Reading is always advertised on the basis of
being able to get there from somewhere else.
But then, would _you_ live there?

The fact is, the majority of the people on this list would have to do
a hefty normal commute just to get to the mainline railway stations
from which to then commute out of London to Reading. Even assuming the
client is based very close to the railway station in Reading this
makes it that much longer to/from work than a "normal" London job, and
obviously more expensive. And that quick drink with colleagues after
work that turns into half a dozen could really make it hard to get
home afterwards.

Thames Valley/M4 Corridor jobs aren't even often well remunerated
compared with London jobs once you factor in the travel costs (trains,
taxis, etc) let alone the lost time and resultant quality of life
loss.

I think what I'm trying to say is, there's a reason agencies aren't
getting a very good response posting jobs like this to the list.
They're awfully irrelevant and just like the 100s of others littering
Jobsite/Jobserve. Don't you have any better ones?
