Yes, I'm quite aware the bash-fu is weak with my genereration. In my
defence though I cut my teeth on MS-DOS 3 and edlin - that certainly
didn't instil any great love of the command line interface in me (to the
extent that win95 + notepad was a pleasant step up from that!).

That's also one of the reasons I mentioned "introductory bash" might
make a good topic for a subsequent GLLUG at the GLLUG meetup yesterday
and it's one of the reasons I'm not afraid to ask stupid questions here,
often they provoke useful insight from those of us not raised in a GUI
world!

That last one been copied into my "Useful CLI" file already, happy days :)
