Hi there, you very helpful young oiks, I very much appreciated your
contributions and I assure you I'll be working along your recommending
lines.

Before more issues for you, an update (with a grin): I rang Demon's
"customer service" line on Monday morning. just to ask if I'd get some
financial adjustment - but I didn't get far. Before I could get at all
clear, I got cut off ... 'Slife!

This day I posted a somewhat snotty letter to their Glasgow offices, in
passing saying that their treatment/training of the "help agents" seemed
to foster racism amongst observers/users.

So, I look at ISP competitors seriously for the first in a long time.
Amongst others I have seen uklinux. Comments?

Whilst I think my Belkin router might have been misfiring under heat
stress recently I see one can buy what was called a "wired modem", more
often referred to as a "switch". I don't want radio control at all, so
would this switch be a nice, sensible way ahead for this more amiable
old fart? You can probably guess that the Belkin is currently operating
in a "wired" set-up. Wouldn't a switch be simpler?

I apologise if I ask too much - but you have, for a long time, been very
helpful to this crotchetty old git and an exemplar amongst such groups.

Ah well, back to reviving socialism! Humbly, Don Williams
