For a moment there I thought the latter was a reason for the former :)
I do wonder about interviews that ask you to solve knotty problems on
the spot: I can't do it and I don't know anyone who can. Knotty problems
always require a bunch of thought to get the model clear in your head,
then a bunch of sleep (and, in my case, a bunch of countryside walking,
but I know I'm strange).
