On 25 Nov 2010, Martin A. Brooks told this:

Oops!
(Oddly, the card I've had no problems with here is the Realtek one. The
machine with e1000e 82574Ls has given me endless trouble, with more than
half the kernels since 2.6.30 breaking it in some lethal network-
breaking fashion. No way am I going to get an e1000e again. Even my
horrible old NE2K was more reliable than this. In fact I don't think
I've *ever* had driver bugs break any other network cards under Linux.)

?! WTF?

Mine would have arrived rapidly, only the machine evaporated in transit
along with the lorry it was part of. They gave me a replacement (can you
call it a replacement when you never saw the original?)
