[Gllug] question about python/perl

Thanks all,

To be honest, I'm none the wiser now:) As many opinions as there were 
replies.
Worse still, I'm not clear as to my future plans, which makes it more 
difficult to pick one.
What I'm going to do is start learning both and see which one I'm more 
comfortable with.
I don't see any other option.

I don't know. I've never treated Java as a viable option. In the past I 
tried C and Lisp but
gave up quickly due to lack of time and no actual need for using them. 
Yeah, I guess a more
practical/pragmatic solution would be to learn Java.
