If find A&A very good at taking the pain out of dealing with 1st level BT
technicians.

I lost my broadband connection recently - the ADSL element was still
working fine, but no PPP. I tried changing the router at my end and got
exactly the same result. A&A got BT to test the line (no fault found) and
then BT wanted as a next step to arrange a (potentially chargeable) visit
by a technician. A&A told them not to be silly, and eventually BT got
someone competent on the job and found the fault in the exchange.

Likewise, back in August or so when my line was upgraded to ADSL2+, the
sync rate stayed exactly where it had been before, at 8 Mbps. Given the
SNR and attenuation it should have been a lot more. A&A spent several
weeks poking BT with a pointed stick (you can read all the technical logs
on their web pages and see the to-ing and fro-ing) until eventually they
fixed it. The thing is, I didn't have to do the chasing, and they have the
technical knowledge to tell BT authoritatively what they're doing wrong.

Recommended.
