the only thing they can hold you onto is the remaining time on the
contract you bought the service under. I've seen that through ~ 4 years
ago and its quite clear that there is no minimum term, just the 30 days
they need of notice time.

fwiw, my internet link switched over to sky 2 days back. I've gone from
1.2MBps uplink to 0.4; my downlink has stayed the same at 2.8Mbps;
