I've been finding stats for Hereford talk, and one set of data gives:
Desktop
Microsoft=09=0993.0
Apple=09=09 3.1
Linux=09=09 2.4
Others=09=09 1.5 Source: IDC
But elsewhere I read Apple =3D 5% so I don't know...
Servers
Linux=09=0926 %
Server software:
Apache=09=09 60
IIS+PWS=09=09 30
PDA (palmtops)
Gartner=09=09Oct 2002=09Oct 2001
Palm OS=09=0948.6=09=0949=09=09
Microsoft CE=0930+=09=0916.2=09=09
Lineo=09=09?=09=09 0.2=09
For future predictions, places to try are Gartner, IDC etc.
Has anyone got better figures, or a any kind of Linux PDA %
which I think must be higher now than 0.2% of last year,
all the new Linux PDA hardware models eg Sharp ?
