| not available in computer stores :( I am currently browsing

Hi Mark,

So I think, it is the best just to order a Dell and to install the
FC3. If you see trouble with the hardware, send it back for free and
get the money back. I know, that is a uncomfortable solution for Dell
but it is their fault not to take Linux proof hardware.
Some things concerning hardware and Linux I think should be reminded:
1. So called Winmodems make cause trouble. Winmodems are hardware
where a part of the hardware is emulated by Microsoft. It is NOT the
fault of Linux but just a lack of hardware components in the modem for
example. This is saled then as "Windows Optimized" :)).
2. Take a distri which uses Kernel 2.6 as the power off functions you
need especially for a notebook are much better supported. However,
users of Laptops and Linux are still complaining about this.
