[Gloucs] Talk(s) required for October 20th meeting

Guys, I came along to my first LUG in August but due to educational commitments
for the next 3 months won't be able to make it on a Tuesday night until
January.

However, I did notice in Paul's e-mail below the mail client Sylpheed
mentioned which reminded me of a problem I had with this software on a 7"
debian-based CnMbook i'd bought recently...

The pop3 side of the mail client works but the smtp side returns the following
error "error occurred while sending the message: 501 syntacically invalid HELO
argument"... I believe this refers to the smtp string which is configured to
smtp.blueyonder.co.uk (as per my Mandriva PC - which works fine!) who are my
ISP.

I've sent an e-mail off to the notebook support website but had no reply as
yet... any ideas?

I hope to get along to the next LUG in Jan, but in the meantime will monitor
activities via the mailing list.

By the way, the advice I received recently via this mailing list on VNC
clients worked a treat,... have loaded and set up TightVNC to remote control
my father-in-laws Windows PC... -many thanks to those involved.

regards

Paul
