[Herefordshire] - Reclaiming Partition Space

Julian

Many thanks for this offer. I shall be interested to see if your copy of
PM can do better than Mandrake in freeing up enough space to run Mandrake
10.0 at
level 4 and I will try and get my freshly 'defragged' laptop along to
Shobdon on Thursday so we can see how it goes.

The only thing I have learnt in the last days is that not all 'immovable
clusters' are immmovable its just that MS Defrag says they are. It seems
different defrag tools vary considerably in the amount they can/will move.
While I gather some files should never be moved but it seems very odd that
these should be placed at the end of a windows partition. I suspect these
data that are a nuisance in this context can probably be moved OK with the
right tool but it could be a bit hairy.

Looking forward to meeting everyone

Chris O (Tenbury)
