Sorry i cant help much now, on internet down in Cornwall courtesy on
local library - via laptop and wireless lan, !!

What you need to do is something like XFDrak(e) at the cmd line, I might
be wrong on this. To get a cmd prompt, you could try alt and function
key 1 together to get another shell (cmd line).

I cant test this out as I'm only a a Windowze pc at the mo, hope someone
else can help further ..

I'm pleased that we managed to get you so much closer to a working Linux
box. Just a bit further to go ...
