No, the opposite. I read that Quake3 has a min spec of a Window 1.5 GHz
PC whereas the mfr quotes only 1 GHz for Linux !! Still the graphics is
the hardist to get absolutely perfect. Just make sure you have a nvidia
card rather than an ATI. ATI do 3d drivers but theyre reknowned as not
being much cope as yet. NVIDIA are much better. The Transgaming peopel
do the same to WINE that Codeweavers to for more business like Windows
apps, ie Transgaming release working Linux variants of windows games.

Webmin is good. Although be careful, I still managed to delete my root
password for mysql , which proved difficult to get back ! You may not
need so many modules unless you need SSL, etc.
starting apache should be like :-
service httpd2 start
service httpd2 status
service httpd2 stop
on redhat and other systems, otherwise you have to run it from the /etc/
start script, which i can never quite remember ... (/etc/init.d/ ?? ??

There was a good article in Micromart (linux section every week!), about
Windows like OS's. Like CentOS, and ReactOS. Their goal is to run
windows apps fully without Windows. Freedows is probably similar.
ReactOS looks promising but has some way to go , ie it doesnt even have
networking as yet ..
