I've also just tried another GTK one (like banshee and rhymbox), ie

Looks promising, but only spent like 45 seconds with it so far. So much 
choice ....

I remember it took me 2 weeks to just get my sound card working under 
Linux in 1999 when i started. (it shared an IRQ with my modem ..)
