[HLUG] external hard drive recovery

my new 1TB Maxtor external hard drive
fell off my desk whilst backing up,
now it whirrs and green lights
but neither computer nor windows nor ubuntu detect it....

is there any software i can download
from the ubuntu universe (or elsewhere)
that could help me....

i have copies of all the data somewhere
but it'd be nice to recover it on there..
