Greetings all!I was interested to read Matt's experiences with MythTV, as this is another of my 'projects' - I've installed it on my favourite distro (Mint Elyssa), but probably because of my own ineptitude I'm having difficulty getting it to run - I have the How To to study, so I'm sure I'll get there when I can give it my full attention! VirtualBox is presently ahead of it in the 'queue', and I'm also busy with my (used) IBM Thinkpad X40 which I've partitioned for dual-booting Windoze XP Pro & Mint Elyssa - Ultimately I would like to have it as a 'dedicated' Linux machine, but until I can get VB working, I don't want to overwrite Windoze - Not just yet, anyway! Also, conforming to my usual inquisitiveness, I've started to look at OCRopus which as most of you probably know is being 'sponsored' by Google?! - Their interest bodes well for the future of this application I think. From what I've learnt so far, scanning at 400dpi brings the highest accuracy for most apps, and in Binary (not Greyscale) - Any more information LUG-ites have about this or any of my other 'projects' will be gratefully received of course!Best wishes,Chris.OCRopus> From: herefordshire-request at mailman.lug.org.uk> Subject: Herefordshire Digest, Vol 811, Issue 1> To: herefordshire at mailman.lug.org.uk> Date: Thu, 28 Aug 2008 12:00:02 +0000> > Send Herefordshire mailing list submissions to> herefordshire at mailman.lug.org.uk> > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit> https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/herefordshire> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to> herefordshire-request at mailman.lug.org.uk> > You can reach the person managing the list at> herefordshire-owner at mailman.lug.org.uk> > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific> than "Re: Contents of Herefordshire digest..."> > > Today's Topics:> > 1. If we decided we wanted to use the Resource Centre, I would appreciate some warning, so I can book it? - There will be a small charge too, but it has very modern facilities and loads of free parking needless to say! > Hi Chris> > Thanks for your mail.
