[HLUG] Which distro for a laptop?

Hi Mo,

I've used sidux ( http://sidux.com/ ) on an IBM T41 successfully for some time
now and a friend has just installed it on a new Dell XPS 1530.

Like Ubuntu, sidux is based on Debian Sid, but uses the Sid repositories
directly. A strong team and community ensure that any glitches that might
occur from using Sid are quickly remedied. (There is a useful script
available that most of us use to do system upgrades and avoid known
problems).

Being pure Debian, however, means that non-free multi-media packages are not
included with the Distro but can be added after installation.

I thoroughly recommend it.

Sue.
