5.1 isn't the best version around (although the version in RHEL/CentOS5
seems to work reasonably well. However, I have had two instances of it
failing quite dramatically, causing me to have to upgrade. In one case,
the program was tested on 5.2.4, and nobody had checked which version we
were using ourselves, causing me to have to find an alternative version.
As I want to keep with a secure/packaged environment, I don't want to
put myself in this situation again. However, do a Google for
RHEL/CENTOS PHP5, and you will find a lot of unhappy punters.

Quite. However, in my environment, it is only really me getting into
the nitty gritty, and I can manage both distros ok, though if someone
else was interested in this, I would want to keep it to one distro, and
show them as much as I could in that distro.
