We use drupal for the website 
I like plone though its probably a bit heavy duty for you
Some of the blogs may be ok for you with extra plugins
Drupal is worth a another look too
There are some CMS review sites too

Hey guys, 

I am wanting to setup a site with a very basic but customizeable CMS
system for archiving work (code, papers, pictures, etc) for my personal
site.  Can anyone recommend one? (Joomla is a bit over the top, and i'm
not a fan of drupal.)..

Any recommendations, i'd greatly appriciate.
