[HLUG] Preston as a venue for LUG meeting & CAPS Herefordshire

Greetings all! With reference to alternative venues for future LUG meetings, I'm delighted that the concept of using Herefordshire CAPS 'centres' appeals! - Hooray for 'Democracy', especially if we can 'circulate' around these centres to share the location of our meetings more 'equably'. Meeting in a village hall with all the facilities also makes it so much easier for us to discuss and learn together, and show Linux to other interested parties! - We could even go as far as installing Linux on CAPS laptops too, but in my local CAPS (Lingen), that would inevitably meet the 'bureaucracy' of a certain person who shall remain nameless - Better still that the CAPS higher administration made a 'policy decision' about Linux, and we would be laughing! - Incidentally, The Norwegian Government has already ruled in favour of Open Source for all government software in future! - As usual the Scandinavians are decades ahead of us in Blighty ... Anyway, my father and I are quite happy to meet at Preston-on-Wye next - I see that it is at Grid Reference SO384416, and those of us from N-W Herefordshire can reach it avoiding Leominster and Hereford, crossing the Wye at Bridge Sollers or Bredwardine. Let's keep this one rolling, eh?!Chris.Bridge Sollers> From: herefordshire-request at mailman.lug.org.uk> Subject: Herefordshire Digest, Vol 822, Issue 1> To: herefordshire at mailman.lug.org.uk> Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2008 12:00:02 +0000> > Send Herefordshire mailing list submissions to> herefordshire at mailman.lug.org.uk> > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit> https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/herefordshire> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to> herefordshire-request at mailman.lug.org.uk> > You can reach the person managing the list at> herefordshire-owner at mailman.lug.org.uk> > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific> than "Re: Contents of Herefordshire digest..."> > > Today's Topics:> > 1.
