[HLUG] browser and editor for my local webpages?

I am looking for a browser and editor
to work on my local webpages.

I want to be able to click a link like
[A HREF="../dicenews.htm"]
and to get to the expected webpage,
but also to be able to edit the webpage
after selecting content in it
(without having to load another window such as 'View Source in Notepad'
which entails then scrolling down and finding the words I want to edit
which wastes my time and loses the flow of tweaking.

Is there an extension of firefox that will enable me to edit within a local
clickable webpage which I'm browsing?

or a way to do it in NVU.org ?

I am looking for a solution that is trisexual freeware,
by which I mean i can download and use it on any PC with windows, MacOS, and
Ubuntu.org
