Hi Tom

Ubuntu 10.04 is certainly a big improvement, with a new theme, now purple,
faster boot speed, and generally a bit slicker. Being an LTS release it also
means it will get 3 years worth of updates, so if you wanted you can happy
use it without upgrading through the point releases ie next will be Maverick
Meerkat, 10.10 straight top the next LTS release which will be due in a
couple of years.

That's the nice things about Ubuntu and Linux, the freedom, you can upgrade
every 6 months , or just every two years... Or just choose another distro
entirely, rather than just the option of Windows 7 or not..

There can be upgrade problems, but mostly people always like to post about
good news, rather than the 'I upgraded and it just worked', its not quite so
exciting is it ? ;-)

Certainly my upgrades of a few pc's have been fine.
