[HLUG] HLUG Meetings

Sorry I didn't get to the meeting at all.

There were four things I wanted to do on Wednesday evening. One was
cancelled, which threw out my planning completely. I had intended to
spend a few minutes at the meeting on Wednesday (just to say Hello again
and show interest) and then move on to the other two. As it was I
managed only one. I nearly always have a problem on Wednesday evenings.

I too find the concentration on Ubuntu a bit of a problem. I don't work
on Linux, I just run it on all my PCs. I write php for extracting
data reports from SQL data and actually write this software (for a web
based system intended for Windows users) using Kwrite and test it using
Apache on a PC running Mandriva 2008. (I am upgrading to Mandriva
2010.0 but can't yet run php properly as it will not connect to Apache
properly. Anyone know why?)

Within the constraints mentioned for Wednesday evenings (17th March is
FREE at present) I would like to attend HLUG meetings and don't much
mind where they are. (I liked Simpson Hall and had an interesting
evening last time we met in Kyrle Street but found Leominster too much
of a problem fitting things in.)

I would welcome any talks which widen my grasp of what can be done with
Linux.
