Hi George
lets not worry too much about what we are calling it until it's ready,
numbering it versions 1, 2 and 3 is fine by me, it's only for HLUG
members at this stage anyway - I know which ones I've tested and where
we are at - given the work Tony is putting into it - it's more
productive to test the latest version for him and let him know if you
find any problems
Once it's ready then we can start arguing the finer points of number
systems.

After a very short discussion about running operating systems on virtual
machines at the end of the LUG meeting- I decided to give it a whirl and
try it out with tuxedu 3,
thanks for encouraging me Julian as it was so easy - I thought it was
going to be a complicated process but it's just a case of click and
install virtualbox -

I must confess I've never bothered on the basis that none of my hardware
will support virtual systems; but this netbook and the desktop next to
it both have 1G of RAM ( a bare minimum) with the desktop still having a
spare slot....
Maybe I'll have a go in my spare time.... :)

it took 5 minutes to install virtualbox and get tuxedu3 running - so you
don't need too much spare time - that's why i was so impressed
I just did it as a diversion from doing my paperwork invoicing for
weekend work - it just didn't divert me for very long
