I just wondered what they plan to do to them once they have been wiped -
legally they cannot puit Windows back on as I believe the licence isn't
(strictly) transferable.

Putting on Ubuntu or a lightweight distro where appropriate would be ideal
in this case .. Lots of installed free software ... so they don't need to
try and download GB of data of flakey low bandwidth net lines
