Hi
Did anyone see the ad in the Hereford Times about donating pcs to the place at the old dunelms shop in hereford?
It said they would be wiped before sending on
I wonder if they plan to use linux on the pcs after they are wiped?
Does anyone know anything about this project?
Perhaps we can help as a group ?
Julian

I can certainly contribute a pile of old hardware - mainly as components but also some peripherals. It all depends on how old they are willing to accept !

I just wondered what they plan to do to them once they have been wiped - legally they cannot puit Windows back on as I believe the licence isn't
(strictly) transferable.
Putting on Ubuntu or a lightweight distro where appropriate would be ideal in this case .. Lots of installed free software ... so they don't need to try and download GB of data of flakey low bandwidth net lines
