Hope you're keeping well.

I had an overheating machine once, it would be ok before you got to a heavy
load or the ambient temp was hotter than usual. It was a right pain as it
would just seize up and would then need the off switch when it hit this
point. In the end I got a new motherboard ..

I don't use Debian itself much so can't advise on that but good luck
