[HLUG] New fork Glimpse of GIMP

I had a think about this and I have to say the name GIMP has got in the way of trying to get people to adopt it in my experience. When I have done workshops in schools they are testy at the name for sure. So they do have a point.

I have used the Gimp for a number of years now and apart from the cursed lack of proper CMYK support it is great and for B and W stuff it is as good as PS. But that name has courted nothing but ridicule. Mind you Glimpse is hardly a jaw dropper. 

If they could sort out the CMYK issue that GIMP keeps putting on the back burner they will have a winner on their hands. 

When Libre Office forked from Open Office there was skepticism but look where we are with that now.

Gimp is not for the faint of heart. It is a professionals tool, very
powerful with a battery of complex menus. If you don't want to invest a lot
of time in learning it, find something a little less challenging.
