OK so this appears to have raised some interest. So the next step is to
make some kind of decision. In the IRC channel last night I did agree to
put somekind of poll to choose between either a commercial or open
source project. Thinking about the pros and cons I think it might be
worth doing a small open source project first to see how we go before
jumping into a long, complex and high risk commerical project.

How does that sound? If that's the way then next will be to decide on
projects, then the team positions, who's going to fill them and we can
get on!
