A couple of suggestions apart from RTFM:

When you set up a user, make sure you select UK English as the language.
That will change some of the foreign sounding things like 'AP' to the
more familiar Purchase Ledger.

If you haven't already, join the users mailing list. The lead developer
answers a lot of questions there directly.
