* Job Location/Situation

Cambridge, UK

Will work alongside existing team of three system engineers, as well as
liaise with developers.


* About Us

AlertMe.com is based in Cambridge, with offices in London and San
Francisco. We develop and sell direct, and through partners, energy
monitoring solutions and a home monitoring service.


* Key Responsibilities

Migration of our application from a debian environment to a SuSE Linux
enterprise environment.

Productisation of application for ease of installation and update in SuSE.

The ability to perform the above in a RHEL environment is a definite
plus for this role.


* Experience and Qualifications Required

3+ years commercial linux administration experience

SuSe Linux Enterprise (ideally with appropriate certification), able to:
- automate custom installs
- fix dependency issue
- write, test, debug, RPM packages
- set up and maintain custom repository from a build server

Apache, PHP and MySQL experience

Basic networking experience

Good scripting skills

Bonus skills:
- experience of Dell and HP servers - understanding of optimal raid
configuration, remote management etc
- RHEL and debian experience is a definite bonus
