I am looking for a Linux System administrator in the London region and was wondering if anyone would be interested, or knew of anyone who would be.
Linux Systems Administrator - North London - £30-40k + benefits + SHARES
Exciting London based web-services Start-up Company is looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator. You will be working on e-commerce systems and working with an experienced team.
This is a tremendous opportunity to join a high profile/growth venture backed business with an awesome team that is making some major waves within their industry. As a Linux Sys Admin you will be key in assisting the growth and development of the systems architecture.
You will be working as a small team with a flat structure following Agile software development practices (Scrum) and using Cloud technologies. You must be comfortable bringing your ideas to the table and voicing your opinions.
In order to be successful for the Linux Systems Administer role you must have the following:
* Commercial Linux or UNIX administration.
* Commercial experience in database administration: MySQL, Postgres, Oracle.
* Excellent knowledge of systems programming - ONE of the following - shell (bash/ksh) usage, Linux/UNIX commands.
* Good knowledge of systems' design in multi-server/VM architectures.
* Experience of Apache/HTTP servers, SMTP, DNS, SNMP, SQL, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, VMWare.
* Self-starter able to work independently and propose enhancements to system design.
* Passion for new technologies, self directed learning, and ability to share and introduce new ideas into a team environment
Desirable skills for the Linux Systems Administrator role are the following, however FULL Training will be provided:
* Practical experience with programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Perl, C, C++
* Experience of Solaris or other enterprise UNIX
* Experience of virtualisation and/or cloud systems
* Experience of monitoring/fault-tolerance systems such as Nagios
* Experience of performance tuning, benchmarking, systems scaling
* Experience with Scrum or other Agile software development methodologies
* Active knowledge of, and participation in relevant open source communities
There will also be very occasional on-call during specific projects, however this is NOT regular.
My client is offering £30-40k + benefits (Benefits include shares, pension and holidays)
