[Malvern] Ubuntu install bootloader problem

Guy,

I arrived after the conversation in the pub and so I'm not sure exactly
what you are trying to do. I do know that issues with booting are hard
to diagnose, especially remotely. Could you, for my benefit, outline the
problem and perhaps post some info like the output of fdisk and the
error messages you are getting?

Out of interest, I switched to grub after many years of using lilo and I
havn't had any problems with it all.
