[Nottingham] Soundblaster live and Mandrake 9.0

Hi,
(My first post here so hope it gets there OK - been lurking for a while, =
but haven't had anything useful to say yet)
My machine at home is an Athlon 1.2, 512MB RAM, 80GB HD, NVidia GeForce =
4MX440 and a SB Live.
It worked beautifully with Mandrake 8.2, but since I've upgraded to =
Mandrake 9.0, the sound card makes a static crackling hissing noise =
whenever audio plays, instead of whatever it's supposed to play. The =
soundcard worked fine in Windows XP too (I've nuked XP now, so my =
machine is Linux-only :) )
I've copied chunks of various files and command outputs. I think I've =
got everything of relevance.
I tried asking this on mandrakeexpert.com but without any success. :(
