Use a BIG magnet,
or put it on your CRT monitor close to the edge of the screen and then 
switch on,
use a steam roller (:-P)

or,

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/fd0

You could also add 'bs=' and 'count=' to quickly zero just the first sector.
