[Nottingham] Installing Fedora

I am trying to install Fedora core 2 on a dell
latitude DX300i notebook. All goes well untill it asks
me to pick a monitor type. I try to pick generic LCD,
but it will not me. So I click on proceed and I get an
error message of:
input/output error during read on /dev/hda
retry ignore cancel

Nothing work and I have to turn the computer off and
try again. In my case is four times.
Can I do anything to get pass this?
