[Nottingham] Introduction (repeat?)

I think the two issues (distro and learning CLI) are orthogonal. So for an
easy start it's probably best to pick a distro that is easy to
install. All distros (I should hope) provide shell/term windows so 
learning to use the CLI is the same on them all.

It's best to pick up to notes (or books) on the basics of Unix and shell
interactions then learn to use man and info after that.

There's much that you can find out about how distros are put together but
having the basics of a Unix-like system (file hierarchy, common tools,
shell script, networking, etc) gives you a foundation to build on before
you go off to discover all about Linux (kernel, hardware interactions,
guis, etc).
